Metoject® PEN (methotrexate) For Dermatology
Metoject® PEN is used to treat moderate to severe psoriasis in adult patients who are candidates for systemic therapy, and severe psoriatic arthritis in adults1.

Methotrexate in Dermatology
Known as a systemic treatment, methotrexate acts on the whole body rather than targeting one area2.
Methotrexate has been used to treat psoriasis for many years3, and it works by calming down the body’s immune system, preventing it from attacking itself. This in turn helps to reduce the thickened skin in psoriasis4. Like any medicine, methotrexate can cause side effects. Please refer to Patient Safety for more information.
Reporting of Side Effects
If you get any side effects, talk to your healthcare professional. This includes any possible side effects not listed in the Patient Information Leaflet contained within your subcutaneous methotrexate PEN carton.
You can also report side effects directly via the Yellow Card Scheme at yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk.
By reporting side effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.
